In Eduardo Coudet’s debut as head coach, River secured a 2-1 away victory, with Sebastián Driussi scoring in the first half and Gonzalo Montiel converting a late penalty.

Although River made the brighter start, with Kendry Páez heavily involved and attacking down the flanks, the clearest chances belonged to Huracán. First, Jordy Caicedo received the ball on the right and unleashed a right-footed shot that was well saved by Santiago Beltrán. Then, Óscar Romero tried from outside the box, but his effort flew over the bar.

River took the lead through a fine goal from Sebastián Driussi. The striker initiated the play by spreading the ball out to Gonzalo Montiel, who delivered a precise cross from the right for Driussi to head home. However, just before the break, Caicedo equalized from the penalty spot despite Santiago Beltrán’s strong dive to his right.

Chacho’s team dominated the second half and created three clear chances through Ian Subiabre, Joaquín Freitas, and Tomás Galván. During a run down the left by Subiabre, he was fouled in the box. Juan Quintero stepped up to take the penalty, but the home goalkeeper got down well to make the save. River continued to attack, and a free-kick from No. 10 led to another penalty.

Montiel struck into the left side of the net past Hernán Galíndez to give River a deserved 2-1 lead. Near the end, Freitas went one-on-one with the keeper, but his low shot was saved. In the final moments, Beltrán made a brilliant stop to keep out Lucas Blondel. With this win, River moved back into the qualifying position and will now host Sarmiento on Sunday at the Mâs Monumental.
