Draw against San Lorenzo on Matchday 3

The team led by Marcelo Gallardo kept pushing forward, but ended in a goalless draw at the Mâs Monumental in another round of the Torneo Clausura.

River Plate came into the match with back-to-back wins in the opening rounds, having scored seven goals, and hosted San Lorenzo at home this Sunday. El Millonario kept pushing forward and scored first with a great strike from Enzo Pérez, but the goal was ruled out by VAR due to an offside earlier in the play.

In that first half, River also had another chance through Miguel Borja, who had come on to replace Maximiliano Salas. San Lorenzo stayed true to its defensive setup in the second half, sitting deep and rarely venturing forward, offering little danger to Franco Armani all match long.

River nearly stole the win at the end, with Gonzalo Martínez blasting a volley over the bar and Giuliano Galoppo heading goalward in the final seconds, only to be denied by a well-placed Orlando Gill. River Plate will now face Tucumán's San Martín next weekend in the Copa Argentina.
