Accompanied by Rodolfo D'Onofrio, president of the Club, the former forward, idol of el Millonario, said he is feeling very excited and anxious to wear the red sash again and step on the field that held him during so many matches, goals and laps of honor. Surrounded by friends and fellow team members, el "Torito" will say goodbye to River people, thus closing his successful career as a player: “It is going to be a River Plate party, full of friends. We are around 70 players. To say goodbye like this is a privilege,” he said.
In his farewell match, el Cavegol, who scored more than 100 goals with River’s shirt, will be accompanied by former fellow team members and historical players of the Club: Hernán Díaz, Alejandro Domínguez, Marcelo Gallardo, Leonardo Astrada, Javier Mascherano, Pablo Aimar, Leonardo Ponzio, Cristian Ledesma, Luis González, Marcelo Barovero, Gabriel Mercado, Matías Kranevitter, Javier Saviola, Marcelo Salas, Rodrigo Mora, Enzo Francescoli, Lucas Alario, Ariel Ortega and many others. Besides, the coaches Ramón Díaz and Américo Gallego will be there and some special guests too, such as: Nicolás Vázquez, Pedro Alfonso, David Nalbandian, Matías Martin, Martín Landajo, Daniel Orsanic and Guillermo Coria.
