After a somewhat hard-fought beginning lacking definition, River threatened first with a good deep pass to Rafael Borré, but the forward couldn’t dominate when he was about to face Diego Rodríguez. Central Córdoba responded with a powerful shot by Gervasio Núñez, that Franco Armani saved brilliantly.

River kept on going forward and threatened with a play by Nacho Scocco and a subsequent shot by Exequiel Palacios. During the back-and-forth, Armani responded spectacularly again, after a one-on-one with Jonathan Herrera. In another attempt by River, Milton Casco set up Borré for a goal very well, but the Colombian player couldn’t make it.

El Muñeco’s team attacked with an exquisite play by Scocco: the forward carried the ball perfectly and shot low: Rodríguez was able to block it, but player no. 32 touched the ball from the right out of the rebound and scored the first goal for River. In the last opportunity of the first half, Borré carried out a very clear play in front of the area, but the shot went high.

River was determined to widen the lead in the second half and it first had a very clear chance at Borré’s feet, after De La Cruz precisely set him up. Then, the Colombian player assisted Palacios well, but the midfielder shot a high ball. In a new attacking play, Nacho Scocco was close to scoring the second goal with a diving header, after a great individual play.

Scocco and Fernández got together, the forward got comfortable in the area and assisted his namesake to set the score 2-0 thanks to a gem. Immediately, Julián Álvarez settled the match with another goal after an excellent play by Nacho Fernández. Thus, el Millionario added a new star and finished a year full of celebrations.
