With goals from Facundo Colidio and Sebastián Driussi, Eduardo Coudet’s side earned a deserved 2-0 win over Racing on Matchday 14 of the Apertura Tournament, staying near the top of the table.

In the opening moments of the match, Racing came out on the front foot and quickly looked dangerous: five minutes in, Santiago Beltrán pulled off a superb one-on-one save against Santiago Solari, and soon after, Adrián Martínez fired just wide with a cross-shot. River responded with a powerful strike from Tomás Galván that Facundo Cambeses saved low, followed by a long-range effort from Lucas Martínez Quarta.

River took the lead thanks to a clinical finish from Facundo Colidio, who capitalized on a long ball from Marcos Acuña and a defensive lapse by Marcos Rojo to make it 1-0. Coudet’s side could have extended the lead before halftime, creating clear chances through Sebastián Driussi—denied on the line by García Basso—and Colidio, after a slick move involving Ian Subiabre and Driussi.

In a more subdued second half with fewer scoring chances, River looked to Facundo Colidio, who failed to convert from a set piece, while Fausto Vera fired a cross-shot. The home side responded with a one-on-one chance for Adrián Martínez and a fierce right-footed strike from Duván Vergara, but Santiago Beltrán saved both.

In the closing stages, Sebastián Driussi pounced on another defensive mistake from Racing to finish in style. With this win, River Plate remains in second place in the group with 26 points and edges closer to qualification for the next round. The team returns to action on Wednesday in the CONMEBOL Sudamericana, hosting Carabobo FC at the Mâs Monumental.
