River draws against Huracán on Matchday 10 El Millonario took the lead with a fine goal by Claudio Echeverri at the Mâs Monumental stadium, but the rival managed to equalize 1-1.

With the crowd buzzing and the Mâs Monumental stadium shining, River made its presence felt and kept Huracán on the back foot from the off. Despite not having any clear-cut chances in the early moments, Claudio Echeverri opened the scoring with a nice finish after a collective play. Soon after, Adam Bareiro had a chance for the second goal, but his right-footed shot hit the left post of Hernán Galíndez.
River was controlling the game effectively, with Huracán hardly posing a threat, except for a wayward shot by Sebastián Ramírez. However, just before the end of the first half, the away team equalized due to a lapse in the defensive clearance. Walter Mazzantti sent in a cross from the right, and Rodrigo Echeverría arrived at the heart of the box to head in the equalizer.
At the beginning of the second half, Huracán had three opportunities. For the first, Franco Armani stretched to his left, and the remaining saves came from two powerful shots. River kept pressing until the final whistle, but was unable to get past a team that stood firm in its own half and defended the draw until the end.
Marcelo Gallardo’s team will take on Talleres in Córdoba this Wednesday, in the first leg of the CONMEBOL Libertadores Round of 16.
