Eduardo Coudet’s team drew 1-1 against Blooming in its debut in the CONMEBOL Sudamericana group stage. River’s goal was scored by Sebastián Driussi.

In the opening minutes of the match, after a long-range shot from Miguel Villarroel, River was reduced to ten men following the sending-off of Lucas Martínez Quarta. Despite the setback, the team pushed forward and nearly scored through a Facundo Colidio header from a free kick.

Blooming threatened as well, with a free kick from Moisés Villarroel that was well saved by Santiago Beltrán. Coudet’s side took the lead through a volley from Sebastián Driussi after a move down the right involving Colidio and Fabricio Bustos. The right-back himself then had a clear chance to make it 2–0, but the opposing goalkeeper denied him.

Blooming equalized through Antony Vásquez, but River continued to create opportunities. Colidio nearly made it 2-1 after a mistake by Braulio Uraezaña, while Germán Pezzella also came close with a header near the end. Beltrán proved very reliable with several solid interventions.

River’s next CONMEBOL Sudamericana match is set for Wednesday, April 15 at the Mâs Monumental, following an away clash against Racing this Sunday in Avellaneda for the Apertura Tournament.
