River steamrolls Instituto in Córdoba

Marcelo Gallardo’s team had an unstoppable night and thrashed Instituto 4-0, with goals from Facundo Colidio, Giuliano Galoppo, and a brace from Santiago Lencina, on the second matchday of the Torneo Clausura.
After opening the tournament with a win over Platense last weekend, River traveled to the Mario Alberto Kempes stadium, where thousands of fans filled the stands, cheered non-stop, and celebrated a night to remember as their team delivered a statement win.
River controlled the first half and created several clear chances, though the breakthrough only came late in the half. Facundo Colidio fired a shot that deflected off Gonzalo Requena to make it 1-0. In stoppage time, River struck again: a well-executed passing move between Maximiliano Salas and Colidio set up Santiago Lencina, who finished past Manuel Roffo.
The second half saw no letup from Gallardo’s team, who continued to dominate and looked solid at the back. Lencina made it 3-0 with his second of the night after another well-worked team move. To cap off the result, Giuliano Galoppo struck a beautiful shot from outside the box. With back-to-back wins to start the tournament, River now turns its attention to next Sunday’s match against San Lorenzo at the Mâs Monumental.
