After the slip at Paraná, el Millonario had the mission of adding by threes once again so as not to loose step in the championship. In a Monumental Stadium packed with fans, River achieved an extremely worked victory against Atlético de Rafaela.

Before the start, Ignacio Fernández suffered a contraction and couldn’t begin. Therefore, Camilo Mayada took his place among the first team players. In that first half, River wasn’t precise: it just disturbed its rival with a free kick made by Gonzalo Martínez that went near Lucas Hoyos’ goal. Meanwhile, Augusto Batalla became giant and averted the visiting goal with a great catch within the small area, before Ramiro Costa.

In the second half, el Millonario went out looking for a goal, but didn’t manage to cause danger in Atlético’s goal and suffered in some isolated counterattacks. However, the entry of Andrés D'Alessandro would have great significance.

Barely after 30 minutes, the left-footed took charge of a free kick: his shot got deviated in the wall, took the goalkeeper by surprise and turned into the 1-0 with which el Millonario achieved a new victory and thus got to the 14 points in the championship, two below Estudiantes, the leader, that plays tomorrow.

In the week, River will face Unión de Santa Fe in Mar del Plata for the quarter finals of the Argentina Cup, in another one of the competitions of this semester.
