El Millonario definitely took the reins of the match and quickly set up attacking plays. The first opportunities consisted in shots from outside the box, from Agustin Palavecino and Bruno Zuculini. Rodrigo Aliendro stood firm in the defense to prevent Santiago Silva from scoring a header when facing Franco Armani's goal.

With good combination plays in the attack, and despite the quick surface due to weather conditions, River created a lot of situations and deserved to take the lead before the half-time break. Palavecino was one of the most active players and had several chances, both in and out the box, to open the scoring. Palavecino had its clearest chance, striking a shot with the outer side of this boot, following a great faint.

Aldosivi also had some scoring chances: Armani made a solid low save by the left goalpost on a shot from Santiago Silva. Then, he quickly came off his line to pressure Martin Cauteruccio, who missed his shot after collecting a rebound. In the first half, River was aggressive and dynamic, but lacked the final touch to score the well-deserved goal in Mar del Plata.

Before the 55th minute, following a threat by Aldosivi to Armani's goal, David Martinez made a long-range pass to Esequiel Barco from the left-hand side, but the winger failed to take an on-target shot. On another chance, Beltran went all in in the attack, but decided to set up Barco for a goal, while facing Devecchi in the semi-circle of the box.

Gallardo resorted to the bench and River had two consecutive clear chances: Nico De La Cruz put Devecchi to the test with a long-range shot, while Devecchi saved an excellent shot from Beltran. On another chance, following an overlapping run by Pablo Solari on the right-hand side, the forward had his right-footed shot deflected over the goal by Aldosivi’s keeper. River finally set the score at 1-0 thanks to a great shot from Palavecino, following a chest assist by Miguel Borja.

El Millonario took advantage of the momentum to score the second goal, thanks to a spectacular play by Borja: the Colombian player fainted his way into the box and set up Beltran for a goal on an empty net. Aldosivi took a kick-off, but River pressed up the field and recovered the ball for Borja to set the score at 3-0, scoring his first goal wearing the River jersey.

With this win, River claimed all three points again, slotting higher up in the chart. Next Sunday, el Millonario will welcome Sarmiento from Junin, at the Mâs Monumental, for the next matchday.
