River Plate claimed a 3-1 win this Saturday, April 25, on Matchday 16 of the Apertura Tournament, with goals from Giuliano Galoppo, Facundo Colidio, and Kendry Páez.

With qualification for the next round already secured, the side led by Eduardo Coudet hosted the Mar del Plata team and came away with the victory, which took River to 29 points and into second place in the group.

In the first half, although River controlled possession and Aldosivi barely troubled Santiago Beltrán, the hosts struggled to create clear scoring chances. Giuliano Galoppo went close with a backheel from a corner, and Maximiliano Salas had a clear opportunity but failed to finish accurately.

The 1-0 came through the midfielder, who capitalized on a rebound from Axel Werner after a shot by Facundo Colidio, following a good cross from the right by Gonzalo Montiel. In the second half, River’s No. 11 tested the keeper with a free kick, but his right-footed effort went wide. Aldosivi equalized through a finish from Tomás Fernández, yet River kept pushing for the win.

Late on, Colidio tapped in on the goal line to make it 2-1, and in stoppage time, Kendry Páez finished with great composure for 3-1 after an excellent move down the left by Joaquín Freitas.
