River Plate remains world’s most attended club for third year in a row
With the Mâs Monumental packed for every match, River Plate once again dominated global attendance, showcasing the passion of its supporters and an identity that goes beyond borders.
For the third straight year, River Plate was named the world’s most attended club, reaching an average of 85,018 fans per game in 2025—the full stadium capacity. This reflects the passion and unwavering support of the fans, who sold out every available seat throughout the season.
The report, published by the specialized website Transfermarkt, ranks River first in both average attendance and total spectators at home matches, with 1,360,288 fans attending games over the course of the season.
This recurring milestone was made possible in part thanks to a historic expansion that increased the Mâs Monumental’s capacity to 85,018 spectators, making it the largest stadium in South America.
River Plate ends the year once again at the pinnacle of global fan engagement, marking its third consecutive year as the world’s most attended club and underscoring the extraordinary bond with its supporters.
